Speakers: Enrico Quintavalle (Confartigianato Studies and Statistics Office), Carlotta Andracco (Confartigianato Vicenza Studies Office)

ENEA NZEB Monitoring Centre – Opportunities and results
Since 2021, all new buildings or those subject to top-level major renovation will have to be Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB). The same is true for public buildings, that will lead the way by fulfilling the NZEB requirements by 2019. Some regions (Lombardy, Emilia Romagna) and autonomous regions (Bolzano) have already anticipated these deadlines.
As part of the research project “Creation of a NZEB Monitoring Centre”, financed by MISE (Italian Ministry of Economic Development), the ENEA energy efficiency department has begun to monitor, on the national territory, the construction of buildings certified NZEB according to the 2015 regulations and the certification criteria (procedure, incentives, information-training, research and innovation) so as to:
    •    assist the MISE with the assessment of the impact of national policies, which are to be periodically reported to the European Commission;
    •    analyse and communicate the existing examples to the various players within the industry (population, businesses, professional bodies, public authorities and government), providing details of the technology and procedures adopted.

The NZEB monitoring centre operates through 3 sections:
    •    Barometer position relative to the European situation
    •    National benchmark
    •    Selection of good practices (by involving the various players in the different regions; in Veneto, this is carried out with the support of Confartigianato Vicenza)

The presentation will illustrate the results of the first year and the future developments of the National NZEB ENEA Monitoring Centre.

12:00 - 13:00 : From Passive House to the International Passive House Association

Speaker: Giorgia Tzar (Passive House Institute - PHI)

The Passive House Institute (PHI) is an independent research institute founded in 1996 by Dr. Wolfgang Feist who has played a crucial role in the development of the concept of the Passive House, a scientifically proven international construction standard that is truly efficient from a energy efficiency viewpoint, yet comfortable and economic at the same time. The first pilot project (Kranichstein Passive House, Darmstadt, Germany, 1990) was the first inhabited multiple dwelling building in Europe to have a documented energy consumption for heating of less than 15 kWh/m²a, a level of consumption confirmed by years of detailed monitoring. Since then, the Passive House Institute has taken on a position of leadership in the research and development of construction concepts, building components, planning instruments and quality assurance for exceptionally efficient buildings from an energy consumption point of view. The iPHA (international Passive House Association), was founded by the Passive House Institute with the aim of linking all the Passive House stakeholders around the world, capitalising on the growing international interest in passive houses to promote their standard and quality internationally, uniting Passive House experts and novices equally.

AEDIFICA – The city and the “R” factor. Redevelopment: why, for what, how?
Regenerate, Redevelop, Recover, Rebuild, Repay, Remember
Due to limits that are mainly physical and financial, the long period characterised by expansion of settlement systems, either residential, industrial, skilled trades or retail has come to an end. The Regional Veneto legislation on the containment of land consumption and urban regeneration derives from this awareness, with urban regeneration as an indispensable process although hard to implement.

ROUND TABLE COORDINATED BY MARIO TOZZI

Redevelopment and regeneration, strategic choices for the development of the territory
From strategy to projects: a comparison between European cities – Hamburg, Munich, Lyon.
A concept of the city that serves as a starting point for building a vision of the future, the role of public leadership and of the regulation devices are essential aspects to relaunch investments and development and thus activate a process of capitalisation of cities and regions.

27/03/2018

9:00 - 11:00 : WORKSHOP Revit

BIM

Speaker: Arch. Caretta Carlo, Autodesk Certified Instructor - lecturer at the ViFX School

Revit is a BIM (Building Information Modelling) software. Its powerful tools allow you to use the intelligent, model-based process to plan, design, build and manage buildings and infrastructure. Revit supports a multidisciplinary design process for collaborative design.

The right approach to the reference software for architectural design will be presented through a real project during the workshop.

Revit will be used to develop an idea from conceptual design to construction documentation, within a single software environment.

11:00 - 13:00 : WORKSHOP 3ds Max

Speaker: Sella Cristian Founder ViFX School - Autodesk Certified Instructor - lecturer at the ViFX School

3ds Max® is the 3D modelling and rendering software that allows you to create extraordinary video game worlds, amazing scenes for visualising projects and immersive virtual reality experiences. The workshop will present the correct workflow to create, model and define an architectural environment. Initially, there will be an analysis of the import phase from CAD tools, such as Revit, AutoCAD and Sketchup. It will be followed by a definition/finishing of the objects, creation of fabrics and FX dynamics, useful in the architectural field. Finally, the definition of the materials to be applied to the models and the insertion of light on the scene will be shown.

14:00 - 16:00 : LIGHTING DESIGN, Light as a design entity

Speaker: Giacomo Rossi (VIFX School)

During the workshop, some salient aspects of the lighting design procedure will be illustrated. It is a procedure that is an important part of the architectural design process, with reference to the new UNI 11630 standard regarding the Drafting of the Lighting Project. Benchmark case studies of Lighting design will be presented, starting from the creation of the concept to the execution of the project.

16:00 - 18:00 : WORKSHOP
Lighting techniques for architectural rendering

Speaker: Luca Rostellato Lighting Consultant Co-founder LDT - lecturer at ViFX School

The workshop will deal with the lighting design concepts, in a hands-on manner, that are essential to create a set of lighting for architectural Rendering. The fundamental aspects of light phenomenon will be examined, from photometric quantities to light distribution, characteristics and peculiarities of the illumination entities and natural light sources, to reach the definition of a real concept and the realization of a set of Lighting. These concepts will be applied using the 3ds Max software and the rendering motor V-ray, but are, however, applicable with any other industry software.
